Tenkiu Fa Cai
During the festive season, Grab organized their inaugural Chinese New Year Open House, which was attended by almost a thousand drivers, hailing from all over the Klang Valley area along with their families.
Those who attended were treated to a feast of local delights, took part in a Lou Sang session, and were treated to a lion dance performance and had their prosperity and ‘ong’ messages written in Chinese calligraphy. In addition to that, there was also a lucky draw where lucky drivers took home prizes worth more than RM50,000, courtesy of Grab and sponsors like Honor Malaysia, Lourdes Medical Services, Precise Rehab, Maxx ‘N Go, and Traveloka.
Besides that, their drivers and families were given the opportunity to have their eyes and blood checked as well as obtaining a BMI reading by Lourdes Medical Services and other fitness advice.
Apart from the festivities, Grab also took the liberty to recognize outstanding drivers for their services in 2017. The head of Grab Malaysia, Sean Goh, was present to give out the awards for the drivers. Winners include Grace Nesamani who won the Go Beyond Award, Muhammad Shahraien who won the Rising Star Award for his most number of 5-star rated rides, and last but not least is Ranjit Singh who won the Lifetime Award which was awarded to him for long service in which he started being a Grab driver ever since 2014.
On a side note, Grab along with Prudence Foundation was present to share about the Safe Steps Road Safety program. The partnership which was established back in 2017, aims to enlighten Grab drivers of the importance of staying focused and to always buckle up their seat belt while driving.
Other than the Klang Valley area, Grab will also be hosting their Grab Chinese New Year Open House in Penang, Johor Bahru, and Kota Kinabalu as well.
Pokdepinion: Great to see these types of companies giving back to the community, especially in the festive season.
