The Moto G series has always been a great value offering, where it is available anyway. It is quite rare to find a Moto smartphone here in Malaysia even after the company has been acquired by Lenovo. However I believe smartphone enthusiasts will be pleased with this little piece of news.

Moto G Plus

The 16 MP 1/2.4-type sensor by OmniVision in the latest Moto G4 Plus has received a score of 84, which means it is on a similar level with the iPhone 6s Plus and my personal favorite smartphone to date, the Nexus 6P.

DxOMark has this to say about the camera on the Moto G4 Plus:

  • Very good detail preservation in bright light.
  • Fast and accurate autofocus in all lighting conditions.
  • Good noise reduction in bright light.
  • In most outdoor scenes, colors are vivid and pleasant.
  • In low-light and indoor conditions, the white balance is good.

For a phone that costs $200 (RM810.25), what do you think? A smartphone that costs less than RM1000 matching cameras in smartphones that costs on the upper end of RM2000? Before you say anything, the Moto G4 Plus’ other specifications aren’t disappointing either, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617, 2GB of RAM, 5.5″ Full HD IPS display and a 3000 mAh battery with Turbo Charge technology.

Pokdepinion: I am really interested to see the Moto G4 Plus for myself. With such an amazing camera and an affordable price, it really will change the playing field. Better photos on Instagram, here we come!
