2018 Sony World Photography Awards’ Juries Chosen- Get Ready For Out Of The World Pictures!
It’s that time of the year again, where the Sony World Photography Awards will take place as the panel of judges for the awards have been confirmed by the World Photography Organisation. Get ready to see some breathtaking pictures!
2018 Sony World Photography Awards
Judges have been picked by the World Photography Organisation, featuring professionals from different backgrounds and publications. There are four categories in the Awards, with the Professional category having 6 judges. While both Open and Youth categories will be judged by Zelda Cheatle. Lastly is the Student Focus category, where it will handled by Reiner Opoku.
Now the Awards which is in its eleventh year, offer a shining example of both the beauty of our incredible planet and skills plus talent of contemporary photographers worldwide. The best thing is, the awards are free to enter! So for those photo aficionados out there, this is a great way to get exposure.
A selection of photos from the open competition has been released to coincide with the announcement of this year’s judges (all the pictures that are displayed in this post).
Winning and shortlisted photographers for the Awards will receive world recognition and exposure. In addition to that, multiple grants of $7000 (USD) will be awarded to selected winners of the Professional category and $3500 (USD) will be awarded to chosen shortlisted Student Focus photographers to work together on a new photographic commision set by Sony and the World Photography Organisation.
The closing dates for entree;
- December 4, 2017 – Student Focus
- January 4, 2018 – Open, Youth and National Award Competition
- January 11, 2018 – Professional Competition
