Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II and G7 X Mark III launched with pro features in a compact body
Professional cameras offer a ton of controls and features to help you dial in the perfect settings for your shots quickly, but they are really bulky. Today, Canon Marketing Malaysia introduced the PowerShot G5 X Mark II and PowerShot G7 X Mark III, the latest compact cameras packing impressive pro-level features into a form factor that fits into your pocket.
The latest PowerShot G5 X Mark II and G7 X Mark III both offer a 20.1MP 1″ sensor supported by Canon’s Digic 8 image processor, along with wide apertures of F/1.8-F/2.8 across the focal range. The PowerShot G5 X Mark II has a slightly longer 5x zoom, while the PowerShot G7 X Mark III tops out at 4.2x. The former also offers the ability to do close ups of up to 0.47x magnification.
While the PowerShot G5 X Mark II offers more impressive optics, the PowerShot G7 X Mark III brings with it the ability to do livestreams directly on YouTube. With the 3.0″ LCD that tilts all the way to 180°, taking selfies or recording a vlog has never been easier with these two new cameras. Speaking of vlogs, both cameras can record at 4K30 without cropping, promising plenty of details in your recordings. Also, you can easily get 8MP frame grabs from your recorded videos, directly from the camera.
The Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II is only offered in black, priced at RM3599, while the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III is priced at RM2999 and is available in black and silver.
