Acer Swift 3 OLED

As the name implies – this OLED-powered laptop features a 92% screen-to-body ratio display spanning 14 inches, at 16:10 WQXGA+ (2.8K) resolution. The OLED display is capable of 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and is certified by VESA as DisplayHDR 500 True Black capable.

Performance-wise, this model can be specced with up to Intel Core i7-12700H, 16GB onboard LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The chassis measures at 17.9mm and tips the scales at 1.4kg. Wi-Fi 6E powers the connectivity; the onboard FHD webcam supports Acer Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR), and the microphone array is powered by Acer PurifiedVoice AI Noise Reduction to enhance quality on remote meetings.

The touchpad, dubbed OceanGlass, is made from ocean-bound plastic waste with “glass-like tactile feeling” to mimic similar texture as conventional touchpad. The backlit keyboard provides up to 10% more heat exhaust capacity from updated design.

The Acer Swift 3 OLED is available on Acer eStore, Shopee and Lazada, price starting from RM4,399.

Acer Aspire 7

Powered by Intel Core i5-1240P and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, the Aspire 7 is aimed towards workers on-the-go with its subtle design cues. The model offers 8GB of DDR4 memory – both slotted SODIMM form factor which Acer says allow upgraded capacities of 32GB in total; 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD and Wi-Fi 6 comes standard.

A surprising feature comes from the display, which is a FHD 144Hz panel measured 15.6 inches with 81% screen-to-body ratio. Acer clearly has intentions of making this laptop a ‘sleeper’ gaming laptop despite its rather unassuming looks – their Color Intelligence and ExaColor technology is said to be working in tandem to provide accurate visuals for ‘fast-paced’ gaming titles. On the cooling side of things, Acer gives the option to switch between multiple cooling modes – with a single Fn+F shortcut key alternating between silent, normal and performance mode.

The Acer Aspire 7 is priced at RM3,899 and is available on Acer eStore, Shopee and Lazada stores.

Promotion

In line with the upcoming festive season, Acer offers gifts for purchases made before 31 Dec 2022 – any purchases of Swift 3 OLED or Aspire 7 will be eligible to redeem RM120 or RM80 worth of Touch n’ Go eWallet credit respectively. Other select products will be offered with RM20, or up to RM200 worth of TnG eWallet credit.

Pokdepinion: I am genuinely surprised with Acer really set out to market the Aspire 7 as a gaming-capable laptop and even has the display to match. Someone is going to turn this into a sleeper gaming laptop for sure…
