During the Acer Christmas Day 2018 event today, Acer Malaysia showcased the new Acer Travelmate X514 laptop. It is an ultrathin yet powerful laptop designed for professionals.

The Acer Travelmate X514 laptop has a 14-inch multi-touch Full HD display, and includes a USB 3.1 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a HDMI port, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi supporting 2×2 MU-MIMO technology.

It is available in three different variants; 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD or 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD in the 8th Gen Intel Core i5 option and 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD in the 8th Gen Intel Core i7.

It comes with 8GB DDR4 RAM which should give enough memory for most productivity tools. It is a very light machine at only 980g, which makes it very easy to carry around.To complement its portability, it is said to have up to 10 hours of battery life per full charge.

It also boasts the hardware-level Trusted Platform Module 2.0 which is said to ensure secure authentication and keeps your data safe. Windows Hello is activated via the built-in fingerprint reader for easy and secure access with just a fingertip.

The Acer Travelmate X514 laptop will be available starting January 2019 and will be available for purchase at all Acer official online stores and selected authorized resellers nationwide. It will be retailing for RM4,499, RM4,699 and RM5,299 for the Core i5 with 256GB SSD, Core i5 with 512GB SSD and Core i7 with 512GB SSD variants respectively.

Pokdepinion: Would love to give this machine a try for daily work. It’s surprisingly light for the specifications its packing, I’m genuinely surprised.
