ASUS’ is often considered one of the pricier brands when it comes to gaming laptops. Gamers who need a laptop that is capable of some light gaming and is affordable will often have to look the other way, but the latest addition to ASUS’ stable is pretty reasonably priced. At just RM3499, this is an entry level gaming laptop that won’t bust a hole in your wallet.

The ASUS FX553VD features an Intel Core i5 7300HQ quad-core CPU with 4GB of DDR4 RAM. If you go ahead and replace the included 4GB DIMM, you can have kit out the ASUS FX553VD with up to 32GB of DDR4 memory. Graphics will be handled by a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5. Your favorite MOBAs will not cause this laptop to break a sweat at all.

The display is a 15.6″ 1080p anti-glare unit capable of a standard 60 Hz refresh rate and 45% NTSC coverage. 1TB of hard disk storage will allow you to keep your library of games without having to worry about which ones to delete. Two USB Type-A ports and a USB Type-C port support USB 3.0 (5 Gbps) speeds for fast data transfer, while a USB 2.0 port handles your peripherals.

Speaking of peripherals, gamers will appreciate the scissor-switch keyboard with 2.5mm of travel distance, 30-key rollover and a highlighted WASD clusteroversized spacebar and isolated arrow keys for a precise gaming experience. Rounding off the specs list is a 48 Whrs battery for you to do some work away from home.

The ASUS FX553V-DDM1025T can be gotten at the above list of outlets at a price of RM3499 with a 2 year warranty and a complimentary gaming backpack.

Pokdepinion: The ASUS FX553VD looks like a good deal for gamers on a budget and want to get into the ASUS gaming ecosystem. Be warned though; once you enter, you will never leave.
