ASUS introduces the ROG Strix GL502 gaming notebook
While we do know ASUS has some pretty formidable gaming laptops in the Republic of Gamers series, today we see the first ever gaming notebook to be a part of the Strix series. The ASUS ROG Strix GL502 is the latest addition to the ASUS gaming notebook family, and seems set to target those who require a portable laptop yet desires the high performance afforded by gaming notebooks.
The ASUS ROG Strix GL502 features the Intel Core i7-6700HQ quad core Skylake CPU, paired with up to 16GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M for pixel crunching, all crammed into a 23.5mm thick chassis and weighing a mere 2.2 kg. That’s not all, as it supports M.2 NVMe PCIe x4 SSDs as well as standard 2.5″ storage, allowing you freedom to choose any kind of storage you want.
A 15.6″ IPS 4K display allows you to enjoy the visuals that this svelte beast is capable of outputting. For gamers in the dark, the keys have red backlighting with highlighted WASD keys. While thin gaming notebooks usually trade cooling performance for their sexy silhouettes, the ASUS ROG Strix GL502 does no such thing. It features an exclusive cooling system using copper heat pipes and dual fans to cool the CPU and GPU independently to maximize performance and stability, even in the most intense gaming sessions.
How much will it set you back? RM6999. But for all that money, you will get a powerful gaming notebook with the body of an ultrabook.
