ASUS has probably outdone themselves with the latest ASUS TUF Gaming laptops. The new TUF Gaming FX 505 and FX705 are part of the more affordable gaming lineup, but it features much upgraded hardware.

For one, they feature a 144 Hz NanoEdge IPS-level displays. The previous generation ASUS FX504 laptops only featured up to 120 Hz TN panels, with huge bezels too. This upgrade is definitely a welcome addition in the affordable laptop market.

The inside hardware is no surprise to anyone. It can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7 8750H, 32GB of RAM, 512GB PCIe SSDs and a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB for ample performance. Of course, we don’t expect this top-spec variant to come cheap when it arrives here in Malaysia.

We are also looking at a new HyperCool system with independent fans and heatsinks to cool the CPU and GPU separately. The design also places the fans directly under the keyboard to ensure that you won’t feel the heat even when the going gets hot. The ASUS anti-dust fans also ensure optimal performance.

Last but not least, the TUF Gaming FX505 and FX705 laptops passed the MIL-STD-810G tests for sudden jolts. The HyperStrike keyboards are also rated for 20 million key presses to ensure durability.

The TUF Gaming laptops come in three finish, Gold Steel, Red Matter and Red Fusion. We aren’t sure which variant will come to Malaysia, but which one is your favorite?
