ASUS Announces 2022 New Zenbook Pro and S Series

At the ASUS online launch event, The Pinnacle of Performance, ASUS introduced their new 2022 lineup of smart, high-performance Zenbook Pro and Zenbook S series laptops.

The new Zenbook Pro and Zenbook S feature standard, convertible, and dual-display laptops ranging in size from 13 inches to 17.3 inches, each with a modern new design and the latest 12th Generation Intel Core H-Series or AMD Ryzen 6000 H-Series CPUs, up to GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs with the benefits of the NVIDIA Studio ecosystem.

New and improved cooling technologies across the series, including ASUS IceCool, IceCool Plus, and IceCool Pro, ensure maximum consistent performance up to 140 W combined thermal design power (TDP) depending on the model. Furthermore, the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED (UX7602) and Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED (UX8402) features the new Active Aerodynamic System Ultra (AAS Ultra), an innovative auto-tilt mechanism that elevates the ScreenPadTM Plus secondary touchscreen or the ASUS ErgoSense keyboard for improved cooling and ergonomics.

Zenbook Pro 16X OLED

The Zenbook 16X OLED is packed into a 2.4kg unibody, CNC-machined for solidity from super-tough aerospace-grade 6000-series aluminum alloy which is16.9 mm thin, making it easy to be creative on the go.

Zenbook Pro 16X OLED is an NVIDIA Studio-approved laptop that features up to 12th Gen Intel Core i9 12900H CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU.

The laptop is cooled with the new ASUS IceCool Pro cooling technology, which employs two silent IceBlades fans with 97 3D-curved blades apiece. These cool the vapour chamber and the 5 mm heat pipe from the CPU and GPU and the hot air is efficiently vented to the outside via the new AAS Ultra mechanism, with its 14.5 mm rise and ergonomic 7° keyboard tilt.

As a result, the CPU and GPU may operate at up to 140 W combined TDP in Performance mode without throttling and at less than 40 dB in Standard mode. The 96 Wh battery provides up to 10 hours of autonomy, ensuring that the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED can handle even the most demanding workdays.

Zenbook Pro 16X OLED has a 16:10 16″ 4K OLED HDR 60 Hz 550-nit Dolby Vision touchscreen that is PANTONE Validated for industry-standard colour rendering, has a cinema-grade 100 percent DCI-P3 gamut, and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500-certified for the deepest blacks.

The White-RGB ASUS Intelligent Lighting System enables smart interactivity such as visual alerts for power or performance status. The ASUS Dial rotary controller on the other hand is used, for precise fingertip control of creative apps and an enlarged touchpad with haptic feedback for click-anywhere convenience are among the other innovative and upgraded features.

Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED

The Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED is a compact dual-screen creator laptop with a 14.5-inch 2.8K 120 Hz OLED display. It has a larger and brighter 12.7-inch ScreenPad Plus secondary touchscreen, as well as the AAS Ultra auto-tilting design, which optimises cooling and comfort.

The Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED is an Intel Evo-certified laptop that has the ASUS IceCool Plus technology which cools the laptop up to 12th Gen Intel Core i9 12900H CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU with up to an 85-watt combined TDP and also tilts the next-generation ScreenPad Plus secondary touchscreen by 12°, putting it at a comfortable angle for touch and viewing for a smooth and seamless experience.

The 2.8K OLED HDR 16:10 primary Dolby Vision touchscreen offers a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, an increased peak brightness of 500 nits, PANTONE Validated colour accuracy, 100 percent DCI-P3 gamut, and TÜV Rheinland-certified eye care for studio-class visuals.

The existing 15.6-inch Zenbook Pro 15 Duo OLED (UX582) has been upgraded for 2022, and now has up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900H processor with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU.

Zenbook Pro Series

The Zenbook Pro line includes the new 15.6-inch Zenbook Pro 15 Flip OLED (UP6502) convertible laptop and the 17.3-inch Zenbook Pro 17 (UM6702). The Zenbook Pro series provides users with maximum power in a small and stylish package.

The flexible Intel Evo-certified Zenbook Pro 15 Flip OLED features a 15.6-inch 2.8K 120 Hz OLED touchscreen, as well as up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU and the Intel Arc A370M GPU and is improved with ASUS IceCool Plus thermal technology for maximum sustained performance.

The design is thin and light with a 360° ErgoLift hinge, and an HD IR camera for quick face login. A Harman Kardon-certified Dolby Atmos audio system fueled by a smart amplifier provides better audio experiences.

Zenbook S Series

The ultrathin and ultralight Zenbook S Series adds two new 13.3-inch models built for extreme portability: the convertible Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED and the Zenbook S 13 OLED. Users no longer have to compromise between performance and battery life with the new Zenbook S series’  power efficiency and high-capacity batteries.

The Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED’s versatile 360° ErgoLift hinge allows users to work or play in whatever position they prefer whether it’s a laptop, tent, stand or tablet. The hinge is also stress-tested for optimum durability and The 1.1 kg light and 14.9 mm thin modern unibody design is made from quality magnesium-aluminium alloy and features up to 12th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU, powered by 67 Wh battery, three speedy Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, and a microSD card reader.

The Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED is equipped with smart features like a presence-detection which enables automated login and logout when the user approaches or exits the laptop, and a fingerprint sensor on the power button enables immediate one-touch, password-free login. An RGB colour sensor automatically adjusts the brightness and colour temperature of the display to fit the surrounding environment.

On the other hand, the ultralight Zenbook S 13 OLED is a powerful laptop for individuals who live busy lives. It crams a lot of advanced technology into its 1 kg magnesium-aluminium alloy chassis, featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U CPU with AMD Radeon 680M GPU which can last up to 19-hour battery life, full connectivity (including USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C), and USB-C Easy Charge.
