When MSI launched the MSI GS65 Stealth in 2018, I was absolutely smitten by it. They didn’t release a new design last year, probably because the MSI GS65 Stealth still looked way ahead of its time. This year finally they have decided to release a new design in the form of the MSI GS66 Stealth at CES 2020.

Better fans, bigger battery

The MSI GS66 Stealth is a major upgrade over the MSI GS66 Stealth with more than just a rehash of its exterior. MSI actually reengineered the hardware inside too, with the triple fan system upgraded with thinner 0.1mm fan blades for 10% more airflow. Meanwhile the battery has also been upgraded to a 99.9 WHr one, which is the biggest battery you can legally bring on an airplane.

Unfortunately it seems like they have dropped the gold trim which made the MSI GS65 Stealth look uber premium for a sleeker all-black finish. A pity, really.

MSI revamped their popular MSI GE Raider series with the latest MSI GE66 Raider. The new laptop comes in a gleaming titanium silver finish, which is a far cry from MSI’s usual all-black designs. Across the front edge, MSI also built in a Mystic Light bar for more bling bling than ever.

The design of the MSI GE66 Raider is also a lot more aggressive now, with an awesome new sleek design. Under the lid there’s a 300 Hz display and a 99.9 WHr battery, which is pretty impressive for a laptop of this spec.

For the GE66 Raider, MSI also released a GE66 Dragonshield Limited Edition designed in collaboration with Colie Wertz, best known for his work in the Star Wars prequels, Transformers and Iron Man. The inspiration behind the Dragonshield was it being a part of a space ship, thus the beautiful etched lines that wouldn’t look out of place in the Star Wars universe.

In addition to the two new designs, MSI will also be throwing on a new paint job on the MSI GF65 Thin, with digital camo. It’s a concept but I do forsee MSI turning this into a mass-produced design if the demand is there.

For some reason, MSI has yet to announce any laptops featuring AMD hardware, despite the fact that they were the first to the line with the full-AMD MSI Alpha 15. Maybe later?
