If you were waiting on CES 2020 to start to find out what’s new, this should be quite a combo for you. ASUS’ upcoming ROG Zephyrus G15 has just leaked out on Videocardz, along with its CPU which is another highly anticipated product: the AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS.

The ROG Zephyrus G15 is one interesting laptop with a fancy new lid design. Instead of a simple metal lid, more than half of the lid appears to be practically an LED display now.

The above video might give you a better hint of what it is capable of. Hopefully, it’s fully customizable via some easy to use software. The specifications aside from the new processor are pretty standard affair.

It will be offered with either a 144 Hz or 240 Hz display, and you can get it with a GeForce RTX 2060 or a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. Standard stuff. Suprising to see the Radeon RX 5500M not featured here, considering that it does offer performance pretty similar to a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, at least in practice. Last but not least, the ROG Zephyrus G15 is apparently going to weigh 2.1kg, which I must say isn’t as light as some of the other ROG Zephyrus models.

Meanwhile, the Ryzen 7 4800HS is probably quite a bit more exciting. This is reportedly going to be the first Zen 2 APU, and will also be AMD’s first mobile processor with eight cores under the hood. Considering that the ROG Zephyrus G15 does seem like a rather portable machine, it would really be quite impressive if AMD managed to release an eight-core processor and yet not produce an inferno’s worth of heat. Well, AMD will be holding a press conference 6 am tomorrow so stay tuned for the full details!

CES 2020 is shaping up to be quite an interesting event with a number of big announcements lined up.
