Acer Predator Helios 500 And 300
First up is the Predator Helios 500. It is one hell of a monster in terms of performance. It is powered by up to an 8th Gen Intel Core i9 processor, and making a change from its predecessors, it features a black chassis.
As for its graphics card, it utilizes a GeForce GTX 1070, which is overclockable (yeap, you read that correctly). Display wise, there are options of either 4K UHD or a Full HD 17.3-inch 144Hz G-Sync-capable IPS display. Other specifications include an Intel Optane memory, NVMe PCIe SSD, Killer DoubleShot Pro networking, as well as up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM.
The Helios 500 is set to come with 4-zone RGB keyboard with anti-ghosting, Acer PredatorSense, dual Thunderbolt 3 ports, HDMI 2.0 ports, a pair of speakers, a subwoofer in it, and features Acer TrueHarmony and Waves MAXXAudio. On the cooling side of things, it has Acer AeroBlade 3D metal fans as well as 5 heat pipes.
Over to the Acer Predator Helios 300, it is set for a lower spec compared to the 500. It features an all-white aluminum chassis that comes with a gold trim. Featuring a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with 144Hz refresh rate, it packs an 8th Gen Intel Core i7, an overclockable GTX 1060, packs 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD, and up to 2TB worth of HDD storage.
The Helios 300 also uses Intel Optane memory for better loading times and response. It features 2 of Acer’s ultra-thin all-metal AeroBlade 3D fans that helps you game non-stop without concerns of thermal throttling. Through its PredatorSense, there are 3 available modes for cooling; Coolboost Mode, Normal Mode, and also the Silent Mode.
Pokdepinion: Although the Acer Predator Helios 300 is the lower variant, I actually fancy that gaming laptop more, just because of its look (yes, shame on me).
