Dell Announces New XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1 Laptops

Dell continues this year’s release of its revised XPS lineup with the debut of the classic Dell XPS 13 and the announcement of the upcoming Dell XPS 13 2-in-1, following the launch of the XPS 13 Plus, where the system has been acclaimed for its ‘futuristic redesign’.

The Dell XPS 13 is an ideal portable device due to the alteration during the course of the day through a single email, text, or creative process. It’s powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core CPU which is said to bring up to 12 hours of battery life. It also uses the 5th generation, 4-sided InfinityEdge display with up to 4K+ resolution, and Eyesafe technology for added protection.

The XPS 13 delivers an integrative approach to dynamic colour, with coordinated colours inside and out that focuses on a conscious, simplistic approach, precisely built from premium materials. The laptop is built with tinted CNC polished aluminum and is available in Sky colour tones.

To make the XPS 13 as compact as possible, Dell’s engineers had to redesign the architectural structure. This marked the beginning to engineer the motherboard to make it 1.8x smaller than its previous model from 2021, making it the smallest motherboard ever designed and configured for a Dell PC. This provided the structural space required to incorporate new technologies and expand the speaker casings.

The Dell XPS 13 is priced at RM4,999 and features a 13.4” FHD+ display with an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD storage with Intel Iris Xe graphics. The laptop will be available in Malaysia starting mid-June 2022.

The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 offers a healthy level of versatility for consumers. It supports 5G, which provides quicker downloads similar to Wi-Fi speeds but for mobile data. Apart from that, it includes eSIM technology for added convenience. By connecting the magnetic XPS Folio, users may experience a complete laptop experience that supports three angle adjustments; 100°, 112.5°, and 125°.

The XPS Stylus provides a natural writing and inking experience for both left and right-handed users, transforming the laptop into a digital sketchpad. The unique XPS Stylus magnetically attaches to the top to charge and has an average run time of 50 days from a full charge. Both the XPS Folio and the Stylus are available as an add-on purchase.

The display panel provides high brightness and accurate clarity with up to 3K resolution and vibrant colours. The front webcam has a Full HD resolution and is situated horizontally for video calls. Furthermore, the 4K world-facing camera allows users to capture high-quality photographs and edit content on a single adaptable device.

The XPS 13 2-in-1 features two connectivity options; Wi-Fi 6E or 5G with Wi-Fi 6E. The regular Wi-Fi 6E variant is made of machined aluminum and comes in Sky colour tones. The back of the 5G model is made up of Gorilla Glass 7 to improve connectivity and prevent signal interference. It’s also available in a darker Slate colour.

The XPS 13 2-in-1 price is unavailable for the time being but is available in Malaysia in early August 2022. The base model features a 13” 3K Touch screen display, an Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD storage, and Intel Iris Xe graphics.
