ASUS has just announced their latest update to their TUF Gaming lineup of gaming laptops. The TUF Gaming series is separate from the premium ROG lineup, and brings affordable performance to gamers with smaller budgets. And their latest addition to the series comes in the form of the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB-powered FX504 laptops, with prices starting from just RM3999.

Aside from the beefy GPU, the new laptops come with high-end specifications like DDR4 2666 MHz RAM, 128GB M.2 PCIe SSDs, 1TB Seagate FireCuda SSHDs and ASUS’ dual 12V fans HyperCool cooling systems and of course, the latest 8th Gen Intel “Coffee Lake” CPUs. That’s where the similarities end for the two FX504 models with the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GPUs end.

The FX504G-ME4308T is powered by the Intel Core i5-8300H. It is equipped with 4GB DDR4 2666 MHz RAM. The display here is a standard issue 60 Hz IPS panel. Nothing really special here, but priced at just RM3999, it is definitely worth considering, if only for the GeForce GTX 1060 inside alone.

The higher end FX504G-MEN039T features a premium metal lid with an illuminated ASUS logo. It comes with the 12-threaded Intel Core i7-8750H, a 120 Hz/3ms 15.6″ display and is kitted out with 8GB of RAM. This variant is priced at RM4999.

Pokdepinion: Hmm, less than RM4000 for a GeForce GTX 1060 laptop… I guess the next generation is really coming soon. But still, the GeForce GTX 1060 is a pretty awesome GPU, and should provide plenty of firepower for some time.
