The ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR Edition gaming laptop will be based off their ASUS GL503 and GL703 machines and they will be available in two configurations; 15″ and 17″ respectively. It is built exclusively for the sharpest shooters in the meanest gunfights – optimized to gain a competitive edge in FPS titles such as Counter-Strike, Overwatch and Team Fortress 2.

Standing at 2.3cm in height and weighing around 2.5kg, the ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR Edition gaming laptop is definitely portable for gamers. Built with gunmetal gray and finished with the cold, dark feel of bullet-proof Kevlar, it even looks intimidating from the outside.

Under the hood, we are looking at a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor and Nvidia GTX 10-Series graphics card ranging between GTX1050 to GTX1070. The Malaysian specifications are specified below. What’s even more interesting is, this time around, ASUS has decided to include an NVMe SSD alongside a Seagate FireCuda SSHD which will be seriously interesting to see its performance! With support up to 32GB 2400MHz DDR4 RAM and running on Windows 10 PRO, this will be a mean beast in a very sleek packaging!

ASUS is not just stopping there. There’s still room for even more. On the visuals side, we have a 144Hz IPS display with 300cd/m2 that ensures 20% brighter visuals than average IPS panels.

Of course, what is a 144Hz display without GSync? ASUS will be including the Nvidia GSync technology in the ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR Edition laptop which minimizes perceived stuttering, reduces input lag, and eliminates visual tearing all without affecting system performance.

A full size keyboard with RGB backlighting along with an ergonomic 0.25mm-deep keycap curves are definitely worth looking forward to! Instead of the normal flat keycaps, the concaved keycaps are definitely going to bring an exceptional experience in both gaming and typing. The WASD keys will be highlighted because the ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR Edition laptop is purely dedicated to FPS gamers.

The audio department will be introducing side-firing speakers. It will be paired to a smart-amplifier technology that monitors the output for real-time adjustments that also brings up to 200% louder output than before with increased dynamic range and bass. ROG’s Sonic Studio will offer in-game noise cancellation and voice-volume stabilization, bossting everything that is output.

The Scar was actually announced in Computex earlier this year but we were not certain if ASUS Malaysia would bring it in. And they have several configurations too, which we were uncertain of which one would they bring if they actually do..

But this news is exactly that.. The model that they are bringing in and will be selling in Malaysia ^_^ I hope ASUS takes the lower side of the price..That would make this laptop really hard to resist.. Especially if you’re an FPS player :D
