New Acer Predator Gaming Laptops Launched in Malaysia

At a virtual launch event earlier today, Acer Malaysia has officially announced their latest lineup of Acer Predator gaming laptops that will be arriving in Malaysia. It’s the Acer Predator Triton 500 SE, Helios 500, and Helios 300.

Acer Predator Triton 500 SE

Powered by up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i9 CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, the Acer Predator Triton 500 SE brings powerful performance in a discreet, portable package. Gamers can have this professional-looking machine configured with up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, which means it can pack some serious firepower.

It uses a 16-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 165Hz refresh rate. To ensure adequate cooling, this gaming laptop uses the Acer Vortex Flow cooling design with three 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans, 5 dedicated heat pipes for CPU and GPU, and optimized location for intake and exhaust vents.

Interestingly, it’s being claimed that the Acer Predator Triton 500 SE will have up to 12 hours of battery life per full charge. If accurate, this is amazing given how much power is under the hood in this 19.9mm thin gaming laptop. In case you’re wondering, it weighs about 2.4kg.

Other features of this gaming laptop include Killer E3100 Ethernet, Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i, 2 USB Type-C 3.2 Gen2 supporting Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort, and SD 7.0 card reader.

The Acer Predator Triton 500 SE with 11th Gen Intel Core i9 and RTX 3080 will be retailing for RM12,999 whereas the 11th Gen Intel Core i7 with RTX 3070 variant will be retailing for RM8,999. Acer Predator Helios 500 

Described as a mobile desktop given the parts it’s packing inside, the Acer Predator Helios 500 is powered by up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11980HK and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080. As for memory, you can have it configured with up to a whopping 64GB DDR4 RAM and dual 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 SSD in RAID0.

As for the display, you get a 17-inch 4K Mini LED UHD with 120Hz refresh rate and full-array local dimming. If you opt for the Intel Core i7 variant, you will get Full HD display with up to 360Hz refresh rate, which makes it perfect for those who are more into competitive gaming.

Other features of the gaming laptop include Predator PowerGem, Acer VortexFlow cooling featuring the 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans, MagForce keys, HDMI 2.1 support, Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i, DTS:X Ultra audio, and more.

Acer Predator Helios 300

Now for something that will appeal to the more mainstream audience, the Acer Predator Helios 300 has been refreshed with up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i9 CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU. You can choose between a 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch display in either a 165Hz QHD IPS display or 360Hz Full HD IPS display.

As for memory, gamers can have this configured with up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD with an additional HDD and M.2 slot for expansion. For cooling, it uses dual AeroBlade 3D fans that can be adjusted further via the PredatorSense software.

Pre-order for the Acer Predator Helios 300 is open starting now with retail prices starting from RM7,999 for the 17-inch variant, and RM6,299 for the 15-inch variant. Pre-orders will include free gifts like the Predator Gaming Utility Backpack, Predator Galea 350 Headset, and limited edition merchandises.
