ASUS combines an AMD processor and an NVIDIA graphics card in the new ASUS X570ZD to deliver the best bang-for-buck they can muster. The ASUS X570ZD packs an AMD Ryzen 5 2500U processor and a GeForce GTX 1050 4GB GDDR5 into a sub-RM3000 price tag.

Notably, ASUS focused their budget to offer a powerful processor and graphics card, with the rest of the specifications being a lot more pedestrian. You will be looking at a standard 15.6″ FHD display, and also some pretty basic specifications like 4GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB 5400 rpm HDD under the Reaper Black finish.

On the bright side, both the RAM and storage is upgradeable. There is a free RAM slot accepting up to 8GB SODIMMs, and there is also a vacant M.2 SATA SSD slot. Keeping the ASUS X570ZD alive when you are away from home base will be the 48WHrs 3-cell battery. Given the portable 1.96 kg weight, you might find yourself carrying it around to work on the go quite a bit.

The best part of course is the price. The ASUS X570ZD is priced at RM2899, and is backed by a 2-year global warranty from ASUS.

Key ASUS X570ZD Specifications

  • AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, 4C/8T, up to 3.6 GHz
  • 4GB DDR4 2400 (one slot vacant)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB GDDR5
  • 15.6″ FHD anti-glare display
  • 1TB 5400 rpm HDD (M.2 slot vacant)
  • 802.11ac 2*2 dual band WiFi
  • 2-year global warranty
  • 1.96 kg

Oh, and it comes with a free backpack too! Availability commences February 2019.

Pokdepinion: This would make a pretty decent entry-level gaming laptop with some minor upgrades.
