25 years ago, the ThinkPad made its debut. Featuring the iconic bright red TrackPoint and a classic design which still exists in modern form. Lenovo, the company that bought the ThinkPad from IBM, are commemorating the occasion with the release of ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25.

Also a feature they brought back are the dedicated volume buttons, multiple status LEDs, and multicolor logo.

The concept for the design was launched back in June 25th 2015 via social media where they got feedback on what fans wanted and preferred how it should look like. With looks put aside, the new laptop is powered by Intel Core i7-7500U processor with NVIDIA GeForce 940MX and has a 14-inch full HD display.

In addition, it has all the modern you’d expect from a laptop in 2017, which includes a USB-C port, three regular USB ports, an SD card reader, HDMI port, and Ethernet connectivity. There’s also a fingerprint reader that lets you log into Windows 10 with Windows Hello. So with all these put in together, rest assured that it sure to have modern features besides the retro look and built.

The ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 in limited quantities and only for selected countries. The price and availability in Malaysia in currently to be confirmed.

Pokdepinion: I’m sure some will feel nostalgic with the new edition laptop. Hopefully it will come out in Malaysia though.
