Elephone Vowney is available for pre-order at RM1349 — Delivery on 5th December 2015
Nowadays China-made smartphones are not an unfamiliar sight in Malaysia. Standing out in the flood of mediocre Chinese phones, Elephone will be bringing their flagship device, the Elephone Vowney into Malaysia and is now available for pre-order for MYR 1349 and will be delivered on 5th December 2015.
The Elephone Vowney sports a 5.5 inch IPS LCD screen pushing a whopping QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution with an insane 535 pixel density. The Vowney is powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 SoC clocked at 2.2 GHz which is paired with a PowerVR G6200 GPU. All that processing power is mated to 4GB of RAM for a fluid user experience.
Storage isn’t an issue with the Vowney as it comes with 32GB of internal storage, and if that isn’t enough, it also supports microSD cards up to 128GB. The Vowney runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop straight from the factory, and rumours suggest that the Elephone Vowney is also capable to run full Windows 10 Mobile.
The Elephone Vowney is also equipped with the SONY Exmor RS IMX230 sensor which packs 20.7 megapixels as well as hybrid phase-detection autofocus for blazing fast focusing (0.3 sec). The rear camera can also record 4K videos and a dual-tone LED flash helps to brighten up dim environments. Selfie aficionados are not forgotten either as the Vowney is well prepared with an 8MP front camera.
Connectivity-wise, the Elephone Vowney supports dual SIM, 4G (FDD-LTE Band), 3G (WCDMA), WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. The Press Touch ID fingerprint recognition sensor on the rear of the Vowney provides you with a more secure way of unlocking your device. All of this is powered by a 4000 mAh battery.
The smartphone is available for pre-order on Elephone Malaysia website here.
If you have a smaller budget for a smartphone, there is the more affordable Elephone Vowney Lite, and there is actually really few differences between the normal and Lite version, among which is the lower 1080p resolution display instead of 1440p, 3GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory and the Mediatek Helio X10 is clocked at 1.9 GHz in the Vowney Lite instead of 2.2 GHz like in the Vowney.
You can pre-order the Lite version at here.
Pokdepinion : From my perspective, the Elephone Vowney is a very good device, but honestly I can’t afford the 2K display version, but the Lite version is still a good smartphone with the very affordable price of MYR 1099. Just take a look at the back camera and answer my question, can you get any smartphone with a 21MP rear camera that costs just MYR 1099?
