Leaked images of the Pixel 2 has just appeared online, and from what we can see, Google isn’t jumping on the edgeless display and dual camera trends just yet. In fact, the successor to last year’s Pixel didn’t really see much change on its exterior.

Google has decided that stereo front-facing speakers is more important than having edge-to-edge displays, and decided to include them in some of the thickest bezels we have seen in 2017. The single rear-facing camera is really quite huge too, probably borrowed from the top-ranking HTC U11, since HTC is the one given the honors of manufacturing the Pixel 2. Edge Sense is also reportedly going to make an appearance in the Pixel 2, so here’s looking forward to a more intuitive user experience with the Pixel 2. The Pixel XL 2 is also reportedly going to have a squeezable frame despite being manufactured by LG.

Google might not be following certain popular trends in the Android circle, but they are going to send their 3.5mm ports the way of the dodo. Perhaps this is a bit too much courage from Google? Performance wise, Google will also be following the crowd by packing Qualcomm’s latest and greatest, the Snapdragon 835.

What do you think? Should Google have gone with a dual camera configuration to further add features to the very successful HTC U11’s camera? I mean, Portrait Mode is all the rage now, right?

Pokdepinion: A single camera may be sufficient for impressive photography performance, but a dual camera setup opens up the door to a lot more fun like zoom and true monochrome photography. I will hold my judgement until the Pixel 2 is in my hand though.
