So maybe you are just really mad with your iDevice-using friend, or iDevice-using partner just isn’t paying any attention to you during your Valentine’s date? According to this Reddit post, you can fix that. Simply by setting the date to 1st January 1970 on a 64-bit iDevice running iOS 7.0 or newer, and you can stop the device from starting up at all, giving you a iDevice-free friend/partner.

Since it affects only 64-bit devices, only the iPhone 5S or newer are vulnerable to this bug. iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 or newer may also be susceptible to this too but we aren’t seeing any comments regarding the bigger iDevices except for one guy who claimed it worked on an iPad Pro.

Bricking the device through this bug isn’t permanent, but it does entail a trip back to an Apple Store or if you are feeling adventurous, it is supposedly possible to fix the bug by taking the battery out to reset the system and putting it back after a while.

Pokdepinion: This seems like a horrible bug but some people are voluntarily trying it on their own devices for some reason. As the original poster of this bug mentioned, it does put iDevice users at risk if it is exploited.
