Selfies are the vainest of all photos. You are literally taking a photo of your face to show off to the rest of the world. This is why HUAWEI places great importance on the location of the selfie camera, especially in their new in-screen camera designs, so that you can look your best.

HUAWEI has shared that they have undergone extensive consumer research and user experience studies before designing their latest Selfie Superstar, the HUAWEI nova 4. Apparently, most users tilt their head slightly to the right when taking selfies. With the camera located in the upper left corner, it ensures that the camera will be in line with the usual tilt of selfie users. This naturally allows for a more natural look to the eyes of the selfie-taker, thus making the image look better.

This design feature is also used by Samsung, and of course, HUAWEI’s sister brand, HONOR, in the HONOR View20 which also feature in-screen cameras. Positioning the camera in the center may seem great from a symmetry point of view, but it has a number of drawbacks. Aside from more unnatural selfies, they usually get in the way of important elements on screen in games and other apps.

Aside from an optimized positioning of the selfie camera, the selfie camera itself is also a feat of engineering. The 25MP f/2.0 camera is set in a tiny 4.5mm hole in the screen, allowing HUAWEI to deliver a screen-to-body ratio of 86.3% with the HUAWEI nova 4, all while touting one of the best selfie cameras out there.

The HUAWEI nova 4 has been designed from the ground up to deliver a better experience for youths. There are some pretty cool bundles for the HUAWEI nova 4, including an exclusive pre-order offer that you cannot miss!
