HTC Desire 22 Pro with Snapdragon 695 Unveiled
HTC has finally introduced a new phone, the Desire 22 Pro. The popular Taiwanese manufacturer has recently moved its attention to VR in recent years and is now coming back to the smartphone sector.
The Desire 22 Pro is a mid-range smartphone featuring a 6.6-inch 120Hz LCD display, a Snapdragon 695 CPU, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage, all powered by a 4,520 mAh battery with 18W wired and 15W wireless fast charging. The device can be increased up to 1TB using a microSD card and the phone also has NFC, WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.1 connection, as well as Android 12 out of the box.
The Desire 22 Pro features a triple camera setup which includes a 64MP f/1.8 main shooter, a 13MP f/2.4 ultrawide, and a 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor whereas on the front, a 32MP f/2.0 selfie camera is integrated to the phone.
The phone works with HTC’s Viverse ecosystem as well as the company’s VR devices such as the HTC Vive Flow headset, which is the big selling point of the device. The Viverse compatibility allows you to access virtual material from the Metaverse through the phone and a linked HTC VR headset. Furthermore, the Viverse Wallet allows you to manage digital assets like cryptocurrencies and NFTs straight from the phone.
The HTC Desire 22 Pro will be available in Taiwan for TWD11,990 (RM1,776) on 1 July and in Europe for EUR459 (RM2,137) on 1 August. At this moment, the company has not stated if it would be distributed in markets other than the two areas.
Pokdepinion: It has been a long time since HTC ever made a phone. It’s good to see them back in the game. I can’t wait to see what this phone would bring to the market as the specs look promising.
