HUAWEI And HONOR Reveals Their Latest Dual Brand Strategy
As you may have known, HUAWEI and HONOR are sibling companies in the smartphone market. Recently their Executive Director and CEO of HUAWEI Consumer BG, Richard Yu has posted the company’s new strategic goals on his official Sina Weibo account which reveals their strategies for the future.
These goals include:
- HUAWEI will become the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer
- HONOR will become the 2nd largest smartphone manufacturer in China, and 4th in the world
- The company will support HONOR in the development of cutting-edge products and continue its investments in technology innovation, channel distribution, and retail strategies while maintaining a firm dual-brand strategy between HONOR and HUAWEI. Both brands will maintain a forward-thinking mindset and help create an intelligent, fully-connected world.
According to the CEO, he believes that HUAWEI are on the rise by saying “HUAWEI Consumer BG has arrived at a brand-new stage. HUAWEI and HONOR are likely to become the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer this year”.
The new goals come after the company has achieved all seven strategic goals set by Richard Yu himself back in 2012. It is reported by IDC that the global smartphone market recorded a 3.1% year-over-year decline in shipments in the first three quarters of 2018 but HONOR bucked that trend and achieved a 27.1 increase.
Pokdepinion: It’s nice to see that they have high ambitions with their goals. It’s definitely better than to just sit comfortably where they are at right now and have no progress.
