HUAWEI Mate 10 Gets Face Unlock Update – Set For 25th May Release

HUAWEI Malaysia has announced that there will be a new software update, basically for a new facial recognition that enables users to unlock their Mate 10 smartphones by using their faces.

The new update is set to arrive our shores here in Malaysia on 25th of May 2018. Users will be notified of the updates in batches begin upon the arrival date.

For the face unlock, HUAWEI Mate 10 users can opt to use direct unlock or slide to unlock. With the former, it allows users to unlock the device using minimum effort, while the latter takes it a step further by synching with the “Smart Lock Screen Notifications“.

To enable the face unlock feature, here’s how:

1. Go to Settings > Security & privacy > Face unlock
2. First time users will be given a brief introduction to Face Unlock, as well as tips to speed up face enrollment
3. Users must read and accept the disclaimer before proceeding
4. Users may now enroll their face following on-screen prompts.
5. After creating a facial profile, users may choose between two modes: Direct unlock and Slide to Unlock
6. You are set to go and the face unlock setup is now complete.
