Nokia Mobility today has unveiled of their Nokia 1 and Nokia 7 Plus here in Malaysia. The devices, which was announced at MWC 2018, follows their ‘banana phone’ sibling which we had a glimpse earlier in the year.

The two devices are among the five devices that Nokia unveiled at MWC 2018. So here are the two devices.

Nokia 7 Plus

The Nokia 7 Plus sets to be Nokia’s latest mid-range device, which they’ve said capable of offering a flagship experience. Offering 18:9 ratio display, the device will also join in on the Android One program, giving the best Android experience to users. Nokia 7 Plus is available in Black/Copper and White/Copper and will be available in stores on this 20th of April 2018. Retail price for the device is RM1,699 and every purchase of the device will get you a gift box which includes a Bluetooth tripod, tempered glass, as well as a fish eye, wide, and micro lens (while stocks lasts).

On the other hand, we have the Nokia 1, Nokia’s entry-level smartphone which will be made available on the 13th of April 2018. The phone runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition). This means that although the specifications of the device might seem on the down, apps (less than 1GB) are optimize to give the best of performance possible

As you can see from the specifications table, these two smartphones are for two different market. With the Nokia 1, you get the simple and below average specs, just to get by your day (I really can see my dad using this). With the phone, they are bringing back Xpress-on covers back (you can switch the covers and choose the designs that you like) where it will cost you RM39.90 for a set of two. Nokia 1 is available in Warm Red and Dark Blue at the retail price of RM339.

Nokia Xpress-on

Pokdepinion: Of course I’m more focused towards the Nokia 7 Plus. That being said, it’s kind of a hard choice whether to buy that or get the Nokia 8 which was launched last year. The difference is only a couple of hundred Ringgit.
