Nokia Has Released Their Flagship Nokia 8 – Shiver Me ‘Bothie’!
It was announced today by HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, that they have release their flagship Nokia 8 smartphone. With content creators in mind, the phone introduces some of the world’s first such as the Dual-Sight video and the Nokia OZO Audio.
With today’s generation only able to show one side of the story, that is why Nokia has chosen to implement the Dual-Sight video in the Nokia 8 and introduce the hashtag #Bothie (instead of selfie, well you get it). It enables users to show the whole story and allows them to livestream natively and in real-time social feeds such as Facebook and Youtube. It gives users who love to create and share special memories an immersive experience. With it being the first smartphone to include ZEISS optics for both front and rear cameras, the Nokia 8 can capture simultaneously from the front and rear cameras with spectacular detail.
It is also the first smartphone to feature the Nokia OZO Audio, which they say has the “exclusive Hollywood technology”. It brings a fully immersive audio experience to your 4K videos and its 360 degree audio capture ensures the playback lets you relieve those moments captured clearly.
Designed to meet the demands of content creators, the Nokia 8 is our flagship smartphone which perfectly balances premium design, an outstanding experience and powerful performance. With millions of photos and videos shared every minute on social media, it’s even easier now for fans to create and share live content – enabling everyone to see both sides of the story – thanks to the Nokia 8’s Dual-Sight video and integrated Facebook Live feature Vijay Thangavelu, Country Manager (Malaysia and Myanmar), HMD Global
The device runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and will be one of the first smartphones to receive the 8.0 Oreo update when its rolled out. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 and 4GB of RAM, with the option of getting 6GB of RAM with the Polished Blue edition. The display is a 5.3″ IPS QHD (2560 x 1440) panel. Sorry, no 18:9 aspect ratio here.
It’s battery is a 3090 mAh one, non-removable, with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 for quick top ups. The phone is promised to deliver 11 hours of 4K video playback on a single charge, which is pretty impressive. Storage wise, it has 64GB of internal memory with an option to add up to 256GB via microSD card.
The phone is out now in Malaysia and retails at RM2299. We’ll be reviewing the device so stay tuned for more on the Nokia 8!
