You might know about the OPPO INNO DAY, an event where OPPO showcase new product concepts and some of them eventually makes it out to the market. This year’s convention sees them introduce a new smartphone that comes with a rollable display.

Remember when those big notches were a thing? OPPO introduced the OPPO Find X back in 2018 where it eliminated the need for it through a pop-up camera. This time around, they are looking to offer another option for users of instead of a foldable smartphone, why not make it a rollable one.

What’s interesting about the device is that you apparently can determine the size of its display. Yes, it does not have a specific display size. You can select the size from 6.7-inch to 7.4-inch.

It appears that they’re utilizing dual rolling motors underneath the screen, which is said to offer no crease on the display. Aside from that, there’s the Warp Track screen laminate part that sits just below the display.

Besides the rollable smartphone, OPPO has also revealed the OPPO AR Glass 2021, which features stereo fisheye camera, one ToF sensor, and one RGB camera.

As you’d expect, there are no official release dates for them at the moment. We will update accordingly should there be any new information from OPPO.

Pokdepinion: I’m just concerned of the mechanism underneath that display. Since it’s still a new idea, I wouldn’t be surprised for it to have some issues. Regardless, it’s nice to see that they conjure up something like this. If everything’s the same, the smartphone world would be boring, no?
