With Apple’s newest devices officially available for pre-order in other countries, this is what we predict to be the iPhone 8 and iPhone X Malaysia price.

Possible iPhone 8 and iPhone X Malaysia Price

iPhone 8 Plus iPhone X Malaysia Price

With Apple officially unveiling the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X not too long ago, people started to wonder how much these devices will cost when it officially becomes available in Malaysia. As there is no set release date in Malaysia, the local prices are still unknown. The devices now are officially available for pre-order in other countries but we will need to wait a bit longer.

All we know is that Apple has been making it available to us faster and faster, year after year. Utilizing the launch prices of the previous iPhone models for now, we may have some idea of the iPhone 8 and iPhone X Malaysia price.

iPhone 8 Malaysia Price

iPhone 8 Plus iPhone X Malaysia Price

Let’s start with Apple’s most affordable offering. The iPhone 8 is available starting from USD $699. This is actually $50 dollars more than the most affordable last year, the iPhone 7 (USD $649). However, keep in mind that this is the 64GB iPhone 8 compared to the 32GB iPhone 7, so the price difference is somewhat justified.

In Malaysia, the entry level iPhone 7 was priced at RM3,199. Since there’s a slight increase in launch price for the entry level iPhone 8, I predict that the 64GB iPhone 8 Malaysia price will be at RM3,499.

Interestingly, the 256GB variant of the iPhone 8 is the exact same price as the 256GB variant of the iPhone 7, which is set at USD $849. In Malaysia, the 256GB iPhone 7 was launched at RM4,199. Therefore, it can be surmised that the 256GB iPhone 8 will most definitely have the same price as the iPhone 7 at launch.

Launch Price (Prediction Price in Bold)

  • iPhone 7 32GB: USD $649 / RM3,199
  • iPhone 7 256GB: USD $849 / RM4,199
  • iPhone 8 64GB: USD $699 / RM3,499
  • iPhone 8 256GB: USD $849 / RM4,199

iPhone 8 Plus Malaysia Price

Next up, we have the phone that I believe most people would be opting instead of the iPhone X, the iPhone 8 Plus. Just like the 8, the iPhone 8 Plus has a slightly higher launch price compared to the iPhone 7 Plus. Both devices had a launch price of USD $799 and USD $769 respectively.

Unlike the 8 and 7, this one only has a 30 dollar difference. Once again, this is a 32GB entry model going against a 64GB entry model. The 32GB iPhone 7 Plus was launched in Malaysia with a RM3,799 price tag. Especially because their Korean rival recently launched a new phablet, I believe that the 64GB iPhone 8 Plus Malaysia price will be set at RM3,999.

In a surprising twist, the 256GB iPhone 8 Plus has a lower launch price compared to the 256GB iPhone 7 Plus. The former was priced at USD $969 whereas the latter is being launched with a price of USD $949. With the 256GB iPhone 7 Plus in Malaysia being priced at RM4,799 at launch, I predict that the 256GB iPhone 8 Plus will be slightly cheaper at RM4,599.

Launch Price (Prediction Price in Bold)

  • iPhone 7 Plus 32GB: USD $769 / RM3,799
  • iPhone 7 Plus 256GB: USD $969 / RM4,799
  • iPhone 8 Plus 64GB: USD $799 / RM3,999
  • iPhone 8 Plus 256GB: USD $949 / RM4,599

iPhone X Malaysia Price

iPhone 8 Plus iPhone X Malaysia Price

Now for the trickiest prediction yet. The iPhone X is Apple’s most premium smartphone offering and it’s the first of its kind, in terms of key features (or lack of it depending on how you see it) and price point. As such, it’s hard to estimate the price of the iPhone X. But, we can at least use the other iPhone prices as a benchmark.

As many of you know, the base model 64GB iPhone X will be priced at USD $999, a price tag that definitely shattered a lot of hopes during the Apple keynote speech. The most expensive iPhone offering that we’ve had is the 256GB iPhone 7 Plus, which is at USD $969, and RM4,799 in Malaysia. With that data on hand, I predict that the 64GB iPhone X will retail for RM5,199.

And now for the absolutely most expensive option, the 256GB iPhone X at USD $1,149. Here’s the thing, I feel like Apple is crazy enough to sell it for RM5,999. And as expensive as it sounds, I still believe will buy it anyway and that’s why they’re doing it. But considering the difference with the 256GB iPhone 7 Plus and what I predict to be the entry level iPhone, I’d say the 256GB iPhone X Malaysia price will more likely be RM5,799.

Launch Price Prediction

  • iPhone X 64GB: USD $999 / RM5,199
  • iPhone X 256GB: USD $1,149 / RM5,799

Now, keep in mind that these prices are simply a speculation. There are a number of factors that could influence the retail price being set for Malaysia, such as currency. The iPhone 8 and iPhone X Malaysia price could end up being higher or lower (please god, make it lower). This is what I feel is reasonable enough to believe based on Apple’s track record. What do you think?

Keep in mind that if you want to have fast charging with the new Apple devices, you’re going to need to fork out some extra cash for that as Apple will not including it in the box. Click here for full details on that.
