The realme 3 Pro has just been launched in India, and it looks like it will be a really impressive mid-range device. Priced from just INR 13 999 (~RM832), it features specifications that will put other devices in this price range to shame.

For starters, there is the Snapdragon 710 chipset which is found in much more expensive smartphones like the Nokia 8.1 and OPPO R17 Pro, until now. It’s interesting how realme managed to pack the chipset into a device of this price range though, considering how Qualcomm themselves call the Snapdragon 710 a chipset for the “premium mid-range”.

The camera also sees a nice upgrade from the realme 2 Pro. realme took the 16MP Sony IMX 519 from the OnePlus 6T and offers it in a device that costs 1/3 the price of the flagship killer. Given that realme has made massive leaps in its camera software, the sensor may be given a new breath of life.

The specifications of the realme 3 Pro are as follows:

realme 3 Pro Specifications

  • Snapdragon 710, octa-core up to 2.2 GHz, 10nm FinFET
  • Up to 6GB RAM
  • Up to 128GB storage (expandable via microSD)
  • 6.3″ FHD+ IPS display
  • 16MP f/1.7 Sony IMX519 + 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor
  • 25MP f/2.0 selfie camera
  • 4045 mAh battery, 20W VOOC Flash Charge 3.0
  • ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie
  • 4GB + 64GB: INR 13 999 (~RM832)
    6GB + 128GB: INR 16 999 (~RM1010)

The only specification which seems like a downgrade is its storage. With no mention of UFS 2.1, the realme 2 Pro might be the only smartphone from realme to feature UFS 2.1 storage yet. The realme 3 Pro will be available in three colors, Lightning Purple, Nitro Blue and Carbon Grey.
