Xiaomi Malaysia has just decided to bump up the value-for-money proposition of the Redmi Note 8 series by adjusting the SRP. That includes both the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro, making them all the more enticing choices for the budget-conscious smartphone shopper in the market for an affordable mid-range device.

The entire Redmi Note 8 series gets RM100 slashed off their previous price tags. Here’s the updated pricing for the Redmi Note 8 series:

  • Redmi Note 8 (4GB + 64GB): RM599
  • Redmi Note 8 (4GB + 128GB): RM699
  • Redmi Note 8 Pro (6GB + 128GB): RM899

Xiaomi Malaysia has apparently dropped the Redmi Note 8 Pro (6GB + 64GB) variant, instead focusing on the 128GB variant. As Xiaomi Malaysia is gearing up to bring in the Redmi Note 9 Pro to Malaysia, this is somewhat to be expected. If you are interested in the Redmi Note 8 series, you can take a look at the specifications below:

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is a great choice in the price segment, despite MediaTek’s cheating in benchmarks, as the overall gaming performance and user experience is still good despite the benchmark scores being irrelevant now. It’s also worth noting that it is now substantially more affordable than the next Helio G90T-toting smartphone in the market.

Pokdepinion: The Redmi Note 8 Pro is still a pretty good choice if you are considering a mid-ranger with a great camera and solid gaming performance.
