it has recently been sold in China officially with a starting price of around RM3600. The device’s main attractions include a specially binned Snapdragon 845 running at 2.96 GHz and a 6.0″ AMOLED display running at 90 Hz with 1ms response time and HDR capabilities, among a slew of other gaming-oriented features.

The ROG Phone is also going to be the first smartphone with support for AD WiFi, which is based on a new 60 GHz spectrum. It promises faster WiFi speeds and also theoretically less interference with other devices, to ensure flawless smooth connectivity. This AD WiFi support also lets the ROG Phone work with the WiGig Dock for wireless display capabilities.

How much do you think the ROG Phone will be priced at when it finally starts being available for sale here in Malaysia? Will they live up to the sub-RM3000 price tag revealed in earlier rumors, or will we see it balloon to more than RM5000?

Pokdepinion: To be honest, this late into the Snapdragon 845’s life, even an overclocked variant doesn’t seem that enticing anymore. But then again the ROG Phone is more than just raw performance, as the sheer amount of gaming-oriented features like the AirTrigger and TwinView Dock sets it apart from the rest. We will definitely check it out once it arrives here in Malaysia!
