Samsung introduces two new affordable Galaxy J smartphones — Galaxy J6+ and Galaxy J4+ with 6.0″ HD+ Infinity Displays!
Samsung’s recent slew of devices may have scared you away with their pricing, but if you are on a tight budget, they still have something up their sleeves for you. The Samsung Galaxy J6+ and Galaxy J4+ are the latest additions to Samsung’s affordable Galaxy J lineup.
The two devices’ main claim to fame is the 6.0″ 18.5:9 HD+ TFT display which while is a fair bit less premium than the Super AMOLED displays Samsung usually uses, is necessary for Samsung to keep the price low. Also shared by these two devices is the 1.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset which is fairly underpowered even given the entry-level intentions of the Samsung Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+. Both devices also share the same 3300 mAh battery.
The difference starts when we take a look at the cameras. The Galaxy J6+ comes in with a 13MP + 5MP setup, while the Galaxy J4+ makes do with a single 13MP f/1.9 rear camera. The front camera on the former is also a higher end 8MP f/1.9 one, while the latter settles for a 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera. The Galaxy J4+ is also severely lacking on RAM with just 2GB on tap, while the Galaxy J6+ gets 4GB of RAM to play around with.
The storage on both the Galaxy J6+ and Galaxy J4+ are expandable with microSD cards up to 512GB, with the former coming with 64GB built-in and the latter with just 32GB. The Galaxy J6+ and Galaxy J4+ are priced at RM999 and RM699 respectively, and are available in a slew of colors to choose from.
Pokdepinion: These two devices offer abysmal value for money. Samsung definitely has to up their game if they intend to compete in the entry-level segment.
