While there were several reports over the web that Samsung were making a foldable smartphone codenamed Galaxy X, it seems that it isn’t after all, according to a leaker from China. The Galaxy X will turn out to be the company’s first ‘gaming phone’.

Samsung Galaxy X Gaming Phone?

The leaker, who has been known to post precise information on unreleased products went on to Twitter and shared the leak on where Samsung will be heading towards the market next. He has said that the Galaxy X isn’t a foldable smartphone and will instead be their first gaming smartphone.

Despite the news,Wall Street Journal reported that Samsung will be launching their first foldable phone next year, in 2019.

On the market right now, we have several companies already coming up with their gaming smartphones such as the ASUS ROG phone, Xiaomi’s Black Shark, and the Razer Phone. It is not surprising if Samsung really does goes to the gaming route, seeing that there is a market for it.

Well these are just still speculations, with no concrete evidence as of yet, so the Galaxy X may even be both a gaming device and also foldable. Until there’s more dibs on the device, we can only play the guessing game. If any news of the device turns up, be sure that we will update on it. Until then, stay tuned.

Pokdepinion; Although the idea is interesting (and also a change of setting with the whole ‘notch’ trend’), I can only imagine of how thick the device would be once it’s folded. Will it fit into my pocket? Well what do you think of the news? Would you get a gaming phone that’s foldable? Let us know in the comment section down below.
