Samsung’s back-and-forth with the One UI update seems to have ended with 24 devices getting it. While the news is based on a roadmap revealed in the Samsung Members app, it might be true because it surely is easier maintaining one major variant of the UI rather than keeping both One UI and Samsung Experience alive.

The Android Pie update roadmap by Samsung starts from January 2019 for the Galaxy S9/S9+ duo, and extends all the way to October 2019 for the older devices. As expected, the flagships get their cut of the pie first, before the older and less popular devices receive it. The last flagship device to receive it will be the Galaxy Note 8, which will get it in March 2019 if Samsung follows their roadmap.

Samsung's Android 9 Pie update roadmap extends all the way to October 2019 22

The less popular devices will probably be receiving their taste of Android 9 Pie when Android 10 Q has been announced. Samsung also doesn’t seem to show any intention to give the Galaxy Note FE an Android 9 Pie update, which was launched together with the Galaxy Note 8. I guess you have to really be true fan to not complain about that.

Samsung's Android 9 Pie update roadmap extends all the way to October 2019 23

Samsung’s Android 9 Pie updates may be a fair bit later than what smaller brands like Xiaomi are delivering, but there are plenty of brands out there that are still probably never updating their devices. Better late than never, am I right?

Pokdepinion: We bet that there would have been uproar if the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 didn’t get One UI. That’s too huge a leap to ignore!
