Motorola may not be a a name you link with flagships nowadays. Their presence in Malaysia is pretty much limited to the mid-range, but they still make some pretty amazing phones. Their latest one is the Moto Z3, a flagship that might seem outdated right from the start.

The Moto Z3 is powered by a Snapdragon 835, which was featured in yesteryear’s flagships. But it has a trick up its sleeve. Building upon the Moto Mod ecosystem, the Moto Z3 works with the new 5G Moto Mod. The 5G Moto Mod packs the Snapdragon X50 modem for 5G access on Verizon.

The smartphone itself is pretty unremarkable. Aside from last year’s chipset, there is only 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It does run Android 8.1 Oreo, with the promise of an upgrade to Android P in the future. The Max Vision 6″ FHD+ 18:9 AMOLED display at least keeps the device looking rather modern in 2018, thankfully without resorting to a notch. A 3000 mAh battery keeps the lights on in the Moto Z3.

The device can be purchased exclusively via Verizon in Ceramic Black starting 16th August at $480 (~RM1,957). The pricing of the 5G Moto Mod has yet to be revealed, but it will be exclusive to the US when it arrives early 2019. Would you get it if it came to Malaysia?

Pokdepinion: While us Malaysians are still struggling with our quota, the US are advancing their wireless tech to such levels.
