Dual-Camera “Perfect Selfie” Vivo V5Plus Smartphone Officially Launched in Malaysia
The bigger brother of the Vivo V5 known as the Vivo V5Plus, is here and yes, it is spaced like that.
Not too long ago, Vivo Malaysia launched their V5 smartphone in an Apple Keynote-esque launch event featuring Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza. Today, they’ve done it again with the bigger brother of the V5 known as the Vivo V5Plus.
Introducing the Vivo V5Plus
At a launch event in One Utama Shopping Centre, Vivo officially launched the Vivo V5Plus today. What makes the Vivo V5Plus stand out is its dual front camera, which Vivo claims to give the perfect selfie when in use with their selfie softlight.
The 20 megapixel + 8 megapixel dual front camera is said to improve imaging quality and give users that cool blurred background look, or the bokeh look as many of you know. Vivo claimed that pairing their dual front facing camera with their selfie softlight will give you the best low-light selfie that no other phone can provide. Of course, we at Pokde will have to see that for ourselves.
Apart from that, the Vivo V5Plus utilize a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 5th generation Corning Gorilla Glass for added protection. It is powered by the Snapdragon 625 chipset, and has 4GBs of RAM with 64GB internal storage. It is running on a customized Android OS known as Funtouch OS 3.0, which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Vivo V5Plus has a fingerprint scanner, and is said to unlock your phone within 0.2 seconds when in use. It also has a Hi-Fi system via the AK4376 audio chip, which Vivo claims to produce clean and consistent audio quality all-around.
Here’s an overview of the Vivo V5Plus:
Mike Xu, Managing Director of Vivo Malaysia, said:
With the current demands from the market, we have created the V5Plus, which is the upgraded version of the perfect selfie phone and it is the first ever smartphone with 20 megapixel dual front camera. This is how we reach to another level in giving what the market demands. We know that demands will always be there and we, Vivo Malaysia, will try our best to fulfill it.
The Vivo V5Plus smartphone will be available starting tomorrow, 21st January 2017, in retail stores and authorized dealers nationwide. It will be retailing for RM1,799, and those who buy the phone will receive a mystery gift. That mystery gift will only be available while stocks last.
Pokdepinion: Dual front camera seems kind of an overkill, don’t you think so? But it does make the phone rather unique compared to its competitors. Vivo Malaysia seems to be very optimistic with their new phone and we can’t wait to try it out ourselves. Is it truly worthy of being the selfie king?
