The Mi A1 was the first Android One device from Xiaomi. It was based off the Mi 5X, and when the Mi 6X came around, it was natural for Xiaomi fans to speculate the Mi A2 is coming soon. While the name A2 doesn’t jive nearly as well as A1 with the Android One branding, it is going to be quite a big upgrade over the previous generation.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 is going to feature stock Android, powered by a Snapdragon 660, up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The dual rear camera will also see an upgrade, with a vertical orientation featuring 12MP + 20MP cameras. The camera will most probably be ported from MIUI just like the Mi A1’s camera, so it will bring AI enhancements Xiaomi has been touting in their latest devices.

The launch is set for 24th July in Spain, so stay tuned if you want a mid-range pure Android experience.
