There are two slider phones in the market right now. One is a China exclusive, and one is coming to Malaysia. The latter is the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, which we got some time to play with last year. We know it was coming to Malaysia in January, but pricing and the exact date was still unknown. Until now, at least.

A local Chinese tech site has leaked out the SRP and availability date of the ceramic-clad flagship. Do you think RM2299 is a fair price to pay for the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3? If you do, then you can get it on 12th January, if the leak is accurate, that is. With that said, the source has a reputation of breaking NDAs, so this info should be somewhat reliable.

From the leak, Malaysia will only be getting the black variant. Only the 6GB + 128GB version will be available here officially. The Snapdragon 845 chipset is probably outdated now in the face of the Snapdragon 855 devices which will be arriving very soon. The camera chops will be handled by the Sony Exmor IMX363 sensor, which allows the Mi MIX 3 to score an excellent 103 on DxOMark.

For RM2299, you will be getting one of the most unique full-screen devices. No notches, no motorized mechanism, and no hole in the screen. Xiaomi decided to hide the front facing cameras in a sliding mechanism, which was extremely satisfying to play with. For those who don’t use selfies that much, the Mi MIX 3 would be the perfect device, as you only have the 6.39″ AMOLED display taking up the front, without a single blemish.

Are you interested the Mi MIX 3? Or would you rather wait for Xiaomi to release the next generation Mi MIX smartphone based on the Snapdragon 855?
