Xiaomi has launch their brand new Redmi Note 5 today in Bangsar. The smartphone which they have dubbed by the company as the “Camera Beast”, is the first Redmi Note device to come with dual cameras.

At the front end, it sports a 13MP sensor that is accompanied by an LED light, while at the back it has a dual 12MP+5MP rear camera.When you take photos while Portrait Mode in activated, both front and rear cameras of the device comes with Xiaomi’s Beautify 4.0, which is enhanced by AI.

In addition to be the first Redmi Note device to feature dual cameras, it is also the first in its family to use LPDDR4X DRAM. Display wise, it sports a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9 ratio display.

Under the hood, it packs a large 4000mAh battery and supports fast charging. Running it on the go is MIUI 9, which is based of Android 8.0 Oreo.

There are three color variants available for the Redmi Note 5, Black, Gold, and Blue. If you would like to purchase it, they will be starting pre-orders for the device tomorrow, 25th of April 2018, on Lazada. Meanwhile, if you would like to purchase if offline, you can do so at Authorized Mi Stores starting from 5 May 2018.

Besides the launching of the device, the company has said that they will be opening 6 more official Xiaomi stores all around the country for users to easily gain access and experience their products.

    Does it charge with usb type c?

    When the redmi note 5 plus was introduced, I was sceptical and compared it to the mi A1. Turns out the major downhill is the use of stock android and charger port.

    This phone looks promising and whole rounded. Maybe the best one could get for under a thousand.

      Sadly, it’s still using microUSB but despite that, it still comes with a quick charge of its own. If you don’t specifically have the urge for a Xiaomi device, I’d recommend that you wait for the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 (well at least until its official price comes out). Seems like a decent option as well.
