ASUS‘ latest tablet, the ASUS ZenPad 3S was officially launched yesterday. The 10-inch tablet is surprisingly good looking and looks set on its way to be an “iPad killer”.

The ASUS ZenPad 3S will be equipped with an IPS display pushing a high resolution of 1536 x 2048. In terms of horsepower, the ASUS ZenPad 3S has a hexa-core MediaTek MT8176, a 64bit processor with 2 Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and another 4 Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.6 GHz. Graphics processing is handled by a PowerVR GX6250, clocked at 600 MHz. The SoC is mated to 4GB of RAM. MediaTek claims the MT8176 as their most powerful SoC for tablets, which means you won’t find it on any smartphone.

The tablet only has 32GB on-board storage but it can be expanded via a microSD card slot that supports up to 128GB. If cloud storage options are what you are looking for, ASUS bundles 5GB of ASUS WebStorage and 100GB of Google Drive for free.

The rest of the specifications include an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front shooter, a USB Type-C port also a huge 5,900 mAh battery. The ZenPad 3S will be running on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ASUS ZenUI, naturally. All of that is packed in a premium metal chassis, a refreshing change after the barrage of affordable ZenPads that ASUS released last year. The ASUS ZenPad 3S  is expected to be priced somewhere around MYR 1400, when it arrives in Malaysia possibly sometime in mid or end of August.
