Most Android users would agree that Android is much more optimized for smartphones than it is for tablets. But that didn’t stop Xiaomi from launching the Mi Pad 4, with some pretty interesting specifications under the hood. Technically it isn’t actually launched just yet, but it is already listed on Xiaomi’s online store.

The Mi Pad 4’s main attraction will probably be its affordable pricing for the hardware it offers. Under the 8″ 16:10 FHD+ display is a Snapdragon 660, up to 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. Longevity is pretty much assured with a massive 6000 mAh battery inside. There is a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera to handle your imaging needs. It will run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, with Xiaomi’s customized MIUI overlay. There is even the option to get the Mi Pad 4 with LTE connectivity, with Xiaomi only charging a small premium for the LTE variant of the Mi Pad 4

The prices for the different variants are as follows:

  • Mi Pad 4 3/32GB WiFi: 1099 yuan (~RM676.10)
  • Mi Pad 4 4/64GB WiFi: 1399 yuan (~RM860.66)
  • Mi Pad 4 4/64GB LTE: 1499 yuan (~RM922.18)

Will you be getting it, or are you so turned off by the thought of Android on tablets that you will pass?

Pokdepinion: I dig the curved corners of the display, definitely makes the tablet look much more premium!
