For our review unit, we received the Dark Gray color variant. It has a metallic back with a matte black finish, which I personally like as it’s not susceptible to fingerprints and smudges. You can also see its single camera system here as well. The sides are metallic and, obviously, the front is glass as the display is there. For an affordable tablet, the build quality is surprisingly solid, unlike similar range product they launched several years ago.

This variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite uses a 8.7-inch TFT display with a 5:3 aspect ratio and relatively thick bezels given today’s day and age. Because of that, there is no notch for the selfie camera, which is a 2MP shooter situated on the top, thicker bezel. The selfie camera  In case you’re wondering, there is no high refresh rate option here.

Based on initial usage, the performance is certainly on the lower end of the spectrum. However, the stereo speakers and display quality is certainly more than adequate for an immersive, enjoyable multimedia experience. I can see myself enjoying movies and some light gaming while on the road with this. It’s worth pointing out that there is a 3.5mm headphone jack on this tablet.

Unsurprisingly, it is noticeably larger than most smartphones today, which would typically mean that it’s hard to use without both hands. Thanks to gesture navigation that was introduced in Android 10 and One UI’s taskbar, it’s surprisingly easy to use with just one hand. As for the other areas, I will have to do some further testing.

For additional reference, our review unit of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is running on Android 11 with the One UI 3.1 skin.
