LG’s C1 and G1 series OLED TVs are the first in the world to enable amazing Dolby Vision HDR 4K 120Hz on compatible gaming platforms, thanks to firmware version 03.15.27, which is now rolling out. LG’s 2021 TV portfolio will also get the update in July, including the OLED Z1 series, QNED Mini LED QNED99 series and NanoCell NANO99 series TVs. Additional TV models from the years 2021 and 2020 are being tested for Dolby Vision gaming at 60Hz or 120Hz.

Apart from the Dolby Vision HDR 4K 120Hz support, another new feature in the firmware is designed to take the gaming experience to a new degree of convenience. Game Dashboard is a floating onscreen menu comparable to the head-up display (HUD) featured in many games, and it’s available on all LG TVs with Game Optimizer starting in 2021.

Users may quickly access the TV’s settings and switch between genres – standard, first-person shooter, role-playing game, or real-time strategy game – without halting the action. Other settings such as dark stabiliser, low latency, and variable refresh rate (VRR) are also displayed on the dashboard. Users can launch the Game Optimizer directly from the Game Dashboard to gain access to extra settings.
