At a launch event in Kuala Lumpur today, Samsung Malaysia has officially launched their most premium and luxurious television offering yet; the QA900R 8K Smart QLED TV. The most shocking thing is that the most expensive variant being priced at RM299,999, which is essentially the same as affordable housing in Malaysia.

The Samsung QA900R 8K Smart QLED TV comes in three different sizes; 98-inches, 82-inches, and 75-inches. The latter two sizes, while still pricey, aren’t nearly as expensive as the largest variant, being priced at RM99,999 and RM59,999 respectively.

What makes the TV so special? For starters, it is actual 8K resolution, and it has AI 8K Upscaling so you can enjoy your content in glorious 8K resolution in the most optimum way possible. Then we have the Quantum Processor 8K which is said to “perfect reality scene by scene in real-time”. One more interesting feature is the Quantum HDR 32X, a dynamic HDR expression that adapts to each scene and unveils the director’s intention.

This TV, along with their lineup of 4K Smart QLED TVs, will be available for the Samsung QLED 8K TV roadshow at Mid Valley Megamall. The roadshow will be happening from 8th May to 12th May 2019. Not to worry, there are much more affordable home entertainment systems available during the roadshow, with the most affordable one being a 49″ Samsung QA60R 4K Smart QLED TV at RM3,499.

With such a high price for the product, Samsung Malaysia is prepared to sweeten the deal. Depending on which TV model you decide to purchase, you can be eligible for a number of interesting free gifts. Some of the free gifts being offered are a complimentary Samsung Galaxy S10e, Galaxy A50, Galaxy Tab A 7.0, and 3-year extended warranty.
