Apple Watch Series 8

Apple Watch Series 8 Keeps You Safe and Connected

The new Apple Watch Series 8 comes with a new temperature sensor that is capable of detecting temperature changes from as little as 0.1°C and is said to take their “commitment to women’s health even further.”

The temperature checks happen as frequently as once every 5 seconds, and it can track your body temperature overnight for a better insight into your sleep and ovulation cycle. The data obtained here will be encrypted on the watch itself, so no one, not even Apple, can access it without your explicit consent.

Apart from that, the crash detection feature will only be active when you’re driving in order to optimize its 18-hour battery life. If that isn’t enough, there is a new low power mode, which will keep its core functions such as tracking still running, and the battery life can go up to 36 hours. This feature will also come to older watches running watchOS 9.

The Apple Watch Series 8 will officially launch on 16th September 2022 and retailing for USD $399 (RM1,796.30) for the GPS model and USD $499 (RM2,246.50) for the cellular model. You get the choice of four aluminum colours; midnight, starlight, silver, and red. As for the stainless tell version, you get the choice of silver, gold, and graphite.

Apple Watch SE

The new Apple Watch SE will be powered by the same S8 chip as the Series 8 and comes with a number of important features such as crash detection. As usual, you will be getting the core Apple Watch experience at a more affordable price, and in this one, you get to enjoy a redesigned back case with a matching nylon composite material.

The new Apple Watch SE will officially launch on 16th September 2022 and retailing for USD $249 (RM1,121) for the GPS model and USD $299 (RM1,346.10) for the cellular model. You get the choice of three colours; midnight, starlight, and silver.

Apple Watch Ultra

The WR-100 water resistance-certified Apple Watch Ultra is designed for the outdoorsman, coming with an all-new design, larger flat sapphire crystal display which is the brightest in any of their wearables, and an extra programmable Action button. Unlike the other watches, it only has a cellular model.

The brightness is said to be 2,000 nits, which is twice as bright as previous models and it comes with a bigger Digital Crown for added ruggedness. The battery life is said to go up to 36 hours but you can extend it to 60 hours with the new low power mode.

The Action Button can be customized so you get instant access to a number of features such as Workouts, Compass Waypoints, Backtrack, and more. This watch also comes with 3 built-in mics and an advanced noise-reduction algorithm for better sound quality in voice calls.

Apart from that, you also get a new Dark Mode, a Wayfinder watchface with a built-in compass, a built-in depth gauge, and a new dual-frequency GPS with custom position algorithms so you can get GPS signals even in hard-to-reach places. It’s also EN13319 certified, which means you can use it as a dive computer.

The Apple Watch Ultra will officially launch a little later than the others, on 23rd September 2022, and retailing for USD $799 (RM3,597.10).

Pokdepinion: I think I’m going to take that leap of faith and go for one of these, most likely the new SE. Looks promising given the relatively more affordable price.
