Huawei Watch 2 announced at MWC 2017, coming to Malaysia in May
The Huawei Watch 2 was hinted to be unveiled at MWC 2017, and true enough, it was revealed after the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus‘ announcement. The Huawei Watch 2 builds upon the classic circular design of the original Huawei Watch while introducing new innovations to enhance users’ active lifestyle.
The Huawei Watch 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor which features 4G connectivity and also features a built-in GPS chip, enabling users to use the smartwatch without it tethered to a smartphone. You can even use apps like Uber, Foursquare and Telegram right on the watch itself. If you prefer more basic communication options, the Huawei Watch 2 supports calls and SMS right on the smartwatch itself. Enjoy high quality calls with VoLTE support and dual-mic noise elimination.
Active individuals will also find the array of sensors and advanced algorithms in the Huawei Watch 2 to complement their active lifestyle. Heart rate sensors help you stay in the optimum range while the GPS tracks your route. With the Google Play Music app, you can even enjoy music via the Huawei Watch 2, without having to carry a smartphone along with you.
The Huawei Watch 2 runs on Android Wear 2.0 which offers an on-watch Google Play Store to get the latest apps to make the most out of the smartwatch. Support for NFC and Android Pay technologies make life easier. The battery is claimed to last up to 2 days with normal use, up to 10 hours in “training mode”, and 3 weeks in “watch mode”.
Those who desire the best Huawei can offer might want something more, which is why there is the Porsche Design Huawei Smartwatch which complements the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9. Combining the elite aesthetics only possible through the collaboration with the technological expertise Huawei is known for, the Porsche Design Huawei Smartwatch is the perfect smartwatch for the active professional.
Pricing for the Huawei Watch 2 starts from 329 EUR (RM1549.56). Malaysian pricing has yet to be announced, but we will find out by May 2017.
Pokdepinion: The Huawei Watch 2 features a round face which I very much prefer over the square or rectangular faces certain smartwatches sport. The Porsche Design Huawei Smartwatch also features a very timeless look even with all the modern hardware in it. I think I am in love.
