If you in the market for a new smartwatch, OPPO’s new aptly named OPPO Watch might just fit the bill. Unlike most of the smartwatches in the market, the OPPO Watch runs Wear OS by Google instead of proprietary wearable OSes that are significantly more limited in their feature set.

You can download apps from the Play Store, with a library of over 4000 apps available. To ensure that you can enjoy all the apps with fluid performance, there’s the Snapdragon 3100 Wear chipset mated to 1GB RAM. OPPO also threw in a more efficient Ambiq Micro Apollo3 SoC to deliver better battery life than conventional Snapdragon 3100-based smartwatches.

As a result, the OPPO Watch 46mm promises a battery life of up to 21 days, while the OPPO Watch 41mm is capable of up to 14 days of battery life. They both support Watch VOOC Flash Charging, which provides a full charge in just 75 minutes, or a day’s battery life in just 15 minutes.

On top of the access to a wide library of apps on the Play Store, OPPO baked in your usual fitness features into the OPPO Watch such as heart-rate monitoring and sleep tracking via the Hey Tap Health App, as well as GPS+GLONASS tracking on your outdoor activities. Since it runs Wear OS, it also supports Google Fit to offer an even wider range of supported exercises.

On the design end, the OPPO Watch 46mm sports a 3D curved AMOLED display that covers the full DCI P3 gamut. The OPPO Watch 41mm settles for a flat display. The aluminum alloy frame undergoes a 19-step polishing process to get that lustrous shine that just screams premium. For the 46mm version, the display measures in at 1.91″, while the 41mm version packs a 1.6″ screen.

Pokdepinion: The OPPO Watch does seem interesting although I do think a Snapdragon Wear 4100 would have been better for battery life…
