Samsung introduces Gear Sport, Gear Fit2 Pro, Gear IconX; for a smarter, healthier life
Samsung has just introduced three new devices to its wearable portfolio, the Gear Sport fitness-focused smartwatch, Gear Fit2 Pro GPS sports band and the Gear IconX cord-free earbuds.
The GearFit2 Pro and Gear Sport are designed to accompany you throughout your day, with advanced fitness tracking to nutrition and sleep tracking as well as motivational coaching as a lifestyle companion. 5ATM water resistance means you can take it to the pool and let it track your swim metrics with the Speedo On app. Advanced heart rate monitoring allows you to watch your heart rate to ensure that you aren’t pushing yourself too hard in your workout. Partnerships with Under Armour and Spotify allows you to enjoy integration with fitness apps from the former, while the latter lets you enjoy your music even without your smartphone. The Gear Sport comes with even more smart features, supporting Samsung Pay, while also allowing for control of Samsung IoT-enabled devices through Samsung Connect and also acts as a remote control for your PowerPoint presentation or Samsung Gear VR headset.
Working out without music in your ears may bore you really quickly, which is where the Gear IconX comes into play. Literally wireless, these earbuds allow you to enjoy your music with or without your smartphone nearby thanks to 4GB of internal storage. Despite its compact size, Samsung promises up to five hours of music streaming over Bluetooth and seven hours of music playback from its internal storage. The Gear IconX also tracks your running routines, featuring the Running Coach function to provide in-ear audio exercise status updates without your phone. When used with your phone, the Gear IconX will be your newest connection to Bixby. Control your device with Samsung’s latest voice assistant without even holding your device.
The Gear Fit2 Pro will be available in Malaysia by the end of September, while the Gear Sport and Gear IconX will hit our shores in November.
